PROMOTING POSITIVE CHANGE...
ONE FILM AT A TIME :)
Why did you want to create this project?
I created this project to educate, spread awareness and showcase my inspirational short film. I aim to promote a positive image and reflection for young black girls and those who feel out of place, as though they don’t belong. I am also very aware of the power of the media, which tells people what is right and what is wrong, who to love and who to hate, who is beautiful and who is not. Based on certain observations, there isn’t much positive images of young black females across the media that show black girls as beautiful with their natural hair and appearance. Everyone regardless of skin complexion and physical features are unique and beautiful.
Children are constantly displaying low self esteem, anxiety and lack self confidence. Hope’s message allows viewers to erase self doubt and be happy with how you were created. I have hope that my film will help uplift children and put a smile on their faces. The film allows viewers to gain a sense of love and recognize within themselves that they are valued and loved.
Why is it important for people to see this?
It is important for people to see this because there are alot of people who are closed minded and maybe this film will allow them to have a better understanding with how much negative words and comments can hurt children and young people. People need to stop making fun of others and display kindness and love towards one another. Hope delivered her message that will captivate an audience and allow them to think. Life is too short for constant negativity.
Is there a money or finance lesson we can learn from this?
The money and financial lesson that people can learn from this film is that, if you have something important to say and you want the world to hear it, you can do what Hope did inexpensively through film. Another lesson that people can learn from Hope is that, you do not have to spend money on advancing your appearance. For example, money spent on plastic surgery and enhancements is very costly, self love and self confidence is very important. Everyone is beautiful just the way they are. Whatever a person choices to do, and it makes them happy, that's what it's all about.
Do you want to collaborate with other members in this group?
Yes, I want to collaborate with other members in this group. Teamwork makes the dream work! Let's all work together and create more films :)
