Making money moves in Las Vegas with education and entertainment #FinLitFilmFest
The Financial Literacy Film Festival took place among the desert sunset balcony of the Taverna Costera and online.
The festival aims to break the stigma around financial literacy by bringing together creatives and finance industry professionals to produce content that educates the public while also entertaining them. Over 100 people attended the invite only live event.
The yearly festival is funded by a financial professionals who believe creativity is crucial in starting conversations about financial struggles. Carlos Anzures and Be Financially Informed David Foxx, both agree that using entertainment or edutainment can help create awareness that we are not alone in our financial difficulties and that it is okay to talk about money issues to resolve them.
“We have physically done this event now from California to Puerto Rico and now Las Vegas. People really care about this stuff. I'm happy that we found a way to deliver the Financial message in a way that people like; EDUtainment.” Says George Ohan, founder of the festival. Among this year’s winners and highlights are Gunpoint, a dark comedy written by Bill Marsilli and the keynote speaker, Emmy Award winning filmmaker Kelly Schwarze.
The Fulton Film Company's motto, "Teach. Coach. Mentor," is at the heart of the Financial Literacy Film Festival. Mr. Ohan is available for interviews to discuss the concept further.
